AI Doesn't Need a Mandate. It Needs a Discipline.
Adopting AI well takes a different starting point than adopting any other technology — but delivering it into production still takes the same thing it always has: real software engineering discipline and real operating experience. The Harness Framework is how we hold both at once.
Three Phases, One Discipline Check
Curiosity
Before a line of code, we build consensus with the business — not a mandate handed down from IT. The question isn't "what can AI do here," it's "where does the business actually agree this adds value." That agreement is the deliverable of this stage, not a prototype.
Proof
Every pilot ships against one measurable outcome, scoped small enough to prove — or kill — in weeks, not quarters. Nothing earns more scope or more budget until the last small bet has actually paid off.
Harness
Once value is proven, we build the real engineering harness underneath it: automation where automation is warranted, agentic orchestration where autonomy is warranted, and evaluation, guardrail, and observability harnesses wrapped around every layer of the stack — not just the AI layer.
“Just Because You Can, Doesn’t Mean You Should.”
That question runs through every phase, not just the last one. Does this workflow actually need an agent, or does it need a good script? Does this decision actually need autonomy, or does it need a well-designed form and a human who signs off? The exciting answer is usually “agent.” The Harness Framework's job is to give the honest answer instead — even when that costs us a bigger engagement.
